It may sound a little cliche and i think i heard it once before on tv or something but the truth is that i really did feel like our family was drowning in credit card debt. I felt sick to my stomach every time i took the walk to our mailbox. I knew there would be another reminder of our debt there (((as we already knew out side of our control))) waiting for me. The money we owed on our credit cards was not from a plasma tv or a fancy vacation it was from food on the table, gas in the car, and the utilities during a very, very difficult time in our life (as a direct result of a drunk driver and my husband was laid off less than a month later no less!! i might add. We didn\'t know where to turn. We were receiving many threatening collection calls and we didn\'t know what to do. The pastor at our church told us his sister and her husband were going through a similar situation financially until they were contacted by horizon debt group and were currently almost completely debt free after 17 months of their service. I got chill bumps from my arms to my legs when our pastor gave us the advice to go with them (((as it really hit home))) It has been almost year since we started with horizon and now our our family is currently all most 70% debt free!!! :-) We can finally see a light at the end of the tunnel. Even through the toughest of times we have always believed and taught our children that god does not close a door with out opening a window. We don\'t know what gods plan is for us but our part may have been to write this comment to help somebody else find the solution to their debt.

I had almost 45 thousand dollars in total debt with 7 credit cards, my job at the time had cut down on the hours and I got behind on all of my payments. My late charges and penalty fees went up and were out of control, to the point that after adding it all up it was almost 50 thousand.
